Founded in 2010 by Neurosurgeon Mr Richard Ashpole, Neurodesignltd is a medical design company, specialising in surgical instruments and surgical teaching simulators.
OUR FOUNDER
Mr Richard Ashpole has been a consultant neurosurgeon at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, UK since 1996 and founded Neurodesign in 2010 to pursue a longstanding interest in designing medical devices, simulation equipment, and informatics. He would be very happy to discuss any ideas or projects that you may have.

VENTRIFIX, EXTERNAL VENTRICULAR DRAIN ANCHORING DEVICE
A simple, reliable and inexpensive device to securely anchor EVDs in place; developed and marketed in conjunction with Neuromedex Gmbh.
ROWENAÂ NEUROSURGICAL SIMULATOR
A complete cranial neurosurgical simulator, including a paediatric version, enabling an extensive range of neurosurgical approaches and procedures to be practised in complete safety. Further developments are under way to expand the range of procedures. These are manufactured in the UK by Calibre Models Ltd and marketed by Delta Surgical.

Cervical arthroplasty instrumentation.

Designed in conjunction with SCIENT’X to provide precise, safe insertion of DiscoCerv cervical arthroplasty, with an adjustable stop to prevent inadvertent overinsertion.

Ventriculoperitoneal shunt instrumentation.
​
A patented system of instruments to mediate a non-touch technique of shunt assembly and insertion.
PATIENT INFORMATION LEAFLETS
Mr Ashpole has written a series of patient information leaflets on neurosurgical procedures for EIDO Healthcare, and we continue to expand the range of procedures covered.
